What Dr. Marie’s Spine and Nervous System Looks Like?

February 29, 2024

At a chiropractic symposium that she recently attended in New Jersey; she had an updated DDR motion x-ray study done to make sure that she puts her money where her mouth is. She talks every single day about having a strong and healthy nervous system and what that looks like, but what does hers look like? We wanted to show you her updated x-rays so that you are able to see that she doesn’t just preach it, but she lives it.

Dr. Marie was very fortunate to get under specific PRS care (the care that she provides in the office) throughout chiropractic school and has been under great care since. Her neck has a nice banana shaped curve in it and every bone in her neck moves extremely well… besides 1 bone. Which bone is that? Her atlas, C1 vertebrae. If you have been a patient in our office, you may have heard me talk about birth and how it can be very stressful on the infant, especially the upper neck of that infant. Well, sure enough, Dr. Marie was a c- section birth. When a C-section is performed, the OB is quite literally pulling an infant from their neck and twisting that infant’s neck to get them out. That pulling and twisting of the baby’s neck can put 60-90lbs of pressure on the neck, which can easily lead to a misalignment of that upper bone/s (C1 or C2) in the neck. This is most likely what happened with Dr. Marie’s atlas vertebrae. It was misaligned at birth and has likely been locked up since. Because it was locked up for approximately 20-25 years prior to her getting it addressed, it will most likely never move 100% properly again. However, to keep as much movement in it as we can right now to help prevent other issues from arising down the road. This is why she still gets checked and adjusted to keep her spine and nervous system functioning at its’ optimal potential.

Dr. Marie envisions being able to play with grandchildren and even great grandchildren one day. She doesn’t want to be in pain or confined to a wheelchair or stuck in a home to the point that she can’t function and enjoy spending time with them. This involves keeping her spine and nervous system in great shape. Our health is our most valuable asset. If we don’t have our health, it will affect every area of our life.

What do you envision your life looking like when you’re 60, 70, 80 or 90?

What you’re doing RIGHT NOW with your health will play a role in that.
